Tea Room

Chez Charlotte

Tea room in Paris Left Bank

For several years, we have opened a chic, unusual and welcoming tea room in the hotel.
On the menu you will find macaroons by Pierre Hermé, who needs no introduction as his creativity and daring have left his colleagues in the world of patisserie speechless with awe. His foie gras macaroons and his chocolate African masks and statuettes are memorable indeed.

To accompany Monsieur Hermé’s delicious creations, we offer a selection of teas from “Le Palais des Thés”, which sources its tea directly from tea-producing areas in Asia and Central America.

The tea room "Chez Charlotte" is the ideal opportunity to discover (or discover anew) our hotel with its artistic designer spririt and its location in the quintessential Parisian part of Paris.

Try and indulge a selection of bitter chocolate macaroons with a fine Darjeeling tea from the Spring 2008 harvest!

Open everyday from 2.30 pm to 6 pm.

Famous in France, Japan and the United States, the man that Vogue called “the Picasso of Pastry” revolutionized pastry-making with regard to taste and modernity.

At Pierre Hermé Paris, the pastry decors are discreet, the techniques constantly revised. Sweets for adult palates, the creations of Pierre Hermé, which have been emancipated from references to the past and childhood experiences, have entered the world of gastronomy.

With “pleasure as his only guide”, Pierre Hermé has invented a totally original world of tastes, sensations and pleasures.”

Le Palais des Thés was set up when a group of around fifty tea enthusiasts decided to create their own company. In order to guarantee the freshness and quality of their teas, they decided that they themselves would travel to the growing regions to buy their supplies.

Through their regular visits to the tea estates, men and women from Le Palais des thés have gained knowledge of local working conditions, farming methods and health and safety standards, and can therefore oversee these aspects.

They have also met men and women who work in the tea industry and have discovered the rich cultures that this drink inspires.

Their demanding, humanist spirit still motivates them today. All year long, they travel around the world looking for the new best and rare delicious teas.

Thanks to their frequent visits in the tea estates, they build long-lasting relationships with their suppliers. They can therefore pursue their missions : bringing you the best quality teas and sharing their travel experiences with you, while being aware of environmental issues, working conditions on the estates and of course faire trade policies.

With Le Palais des Thés, we invite you to discover the cultures of the world...
