Just a stones throw away from the glorious Luxembourg gardens, this stylish boutique hotel successfully combines the old with the new in a subtle-but-charming way.Well-sized
room, elegantly decorated brought
to life with personalized works from painter Jérôme Mesnager. The pieces illuminate the hotel’s
quaint-yet-classy reception area and tea-rooms (where you will also
find a hand-picked selection of art books).
Add to this one of the best breakfasts
you’re ever likely to wake up to, a wellness center to ease the stress
of hot-footing it through one of the most densely populated cities in
Europe and the ultra friendly staff and the only surprise here is that
Des Académies only has 3 stars. Unlike. December 2009

"Excellent Boutique Hotel- Highly Recommended"
My boyfriend and I booked this hotel after reading excellent reviews on trip advisor and were definitely not disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by an extremely helpful and friendly staff member, who was able to check us into our room early and then gave us directions and really helpful information about the local area and transport. A restaurant was recommended to us for that night, a small italian which was excellent also. Everything about the hotel was lovely and our trip was made a lot better by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay here again, as it is very close to all major metro lines and there are lots of lovely restaurants an things to see in this area. Macaroons were absolutely delicious also !!!
Excellent hotel and excellent value for money. Would not get the service we received in a large chain hotel. Merseyside- December 20-2009

"Great Room, Brilliant location, Fantastic Service"
In a ludicrously expensive city, this cute boutique hotel represents great value. Although our room wa small, it was immaculately presented, cosy and welcoming. The staff we encountered were fantastic. They also offered 2 suggestions for evening dining; the first - Le Timbre- wa a superb recommandation and one the best's meals I've ever eaten. THe second recommandation - Closerie des Lilas - wa a muche " posher" (read expensive) restaurant, although the foof wa nowhere near as good. All in all, a great hotel in an ideal place to explore a beautiful city. Oli Atkinson-Manchetester-14 december 2010

"Fantastic little boutique hotel in the centre of Paris"
Chose this hotel from Trip Advisor and wasnt disappointed. It was my partners 40th birthday and I was looking for something different and quirky. It was that and more. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful and the location was great. Most of the major sites were within 15 min walk and with 3 metros nearby getting around was not a problem. We loved the hotel and would go back tomorrow. have no hesitation in recommending this as a great place to stay if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. HKMcp Kent - nov2009

"Boutique luxury in Montparnasse" I was thrilled upon entering the small, quaint entrance of this Montparnasse gem. The lobby is a little jewel box, filled with the incredible scent of their custom-made candles (myrrh and incense). The furnishings are elegant and modern at once, and the front desk staff professional and friendly. My room was located. While it was small, it had everything I could possibly need. Ample large closet, bathroom complete with bathtub, and lovely large windows. The closet was large enough to accomodat my very large suitcase. therei is a lift which is helpful for luggage. The location is ideal - a block from the metro and many wonderful cafés. I would absolutely stay here again. pdx2006-Portland-OR/ nov2009.

"Good things come in small packages" This boutique hotel only offers 20 rooms on five levels. It is located in the St Germaine precinct, a 10 minute walk from the gorgeous Bon Marche department store and surrounded by wonderful cafes, bistros and shops. Several metro stations are within a short walk, the closest being about 50m away. Each room is individually decorated. I know this because when I checked in I was shown four rooms so I could choose the ambiance that appealed most to me. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to assist. The breakfast is a little expensive (certainly given the weak Australian dollar) and is not generally included in the room rate but it is delicious and worth indulging in. Complimentary internet access is offered both in the rooms and in the lounge area downstairs. A downside is the hotel does not have a fitness centre however the Luxembourg Palace is just around the corner and is perfect for a morning jog or walk. Aside from that, Paris is designed for walking so a gym workout is not essential.Laptop dancer. Sydney, Australia. 12 jan 2009. tripadvisor

"Born to top the charts" I stayed there about a year and a half ago, not long after opening. I explained then that this was the best boutique hotel in Paris, by far. They're doing even better now, with closer attention to details (breakfast, umbrellas, massage room, etc.). And as before, decoration, ambiance, location, beds, bathrooms, televisions, service, etc. remain top quality. I'll come back, again and again, for business and pleasure. Seb Shanghai. 10 dec 2008.

"One word : fantastic"
We spent 3 nights in this beautiful small pearl. The staff was super professional and fantastic: helped us with transportation, lost luggages, airport check in...and other infinite questions. The hotel is full of small beatiful detailes... The hotel is situated in a quite street without traffic just behind the corner of boulevard de Montparnasse and 10 min away from the imponent jardins du Luxembourg. Many parts of the city can be seen by feet.. The hotel staff recomended us to walk to the Louvre (instead of taking public transport) and the choice was the best!! Don't miss the incredible breakfast. PK2008croatia. 9 oct 2008. tripadvisor

"Absolutely Fantastic !! " I stayed in this hotel in March 2008 for three nights on a weekend break with my mam. We were delighted with our choice of hotel which was in a lovley area of Paris. On our arrival the staff could not have been more helpful and throughout our stay they were very friendly and lovely to talk to. The hotel itself was fantastic, with lovely contemporary decoration and very comfortable beds. The rooms were big enough for us both and our luggage, the bathrooms are compact but we had no problems managing. The location is also excellent and we walked to all of the major sites. We would definately recommend the hotel to anyone. Thank you very much for a fantastic stay!! Victoria, Newcastle- Tripadvisor. 19 mars 2008

"*** Perfect Paris Hotel***" The room was immaculate, a decent size for French standards, and had a queen size bed (which was a must for us as opposed to 2 twins pushed together). The mattress and pillows were actually more comfortable than our mattress at home. We acutally had a week of the most amazing sleep! (We have 5 year old twins so this meant everything to catch up on sleep!) The bathroom was small but very clean and the shower was always hot and the water pressure was great. The staff was absloutely lovely and they went out of their way to make our stay pleasurable. They assisted us with reservations, recommendations, and directions. We were actually there during the Metro strike and pleasantly suprised to find it really didnt affect anything as we were able to walk to so many things from the hotel.
I absolutely can not wait to go back.....my only only worry is that everyone will find out what an incredible place this is to stay in Paris ...and we wont be able to get a reservation!!! cttwinmom , Fairfield, Connecticut 29 févr. 2008 - tripadvisor

"A gem of a hotel"
I have only good things to say about this hotel. My brother & I stayed at the Hotel des Academies for a couple of nights and we found the hotel to be excellent value for money staffed by a team that really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and assist whenever they could.
I have stayed in many hotels in Paris that claim a 5 star rating with a price to match and they have been very disappointing. The Hotel des Academies on the other hand does not claim to be anything it is not. It is an excellent 3 and a half star hotel that is tastefully decorated, clean and affordable and the staff were very attentive and welcoming.
I will be sure to come back for my next trip to Paris and this little gem of a hotel proves you don't have to spend 400 euros plus a night for a good hotel in Paris. MissKat , London 9 janv. 2008 - tripadvisor

Dear Mr. Inchauspé,
We could not have been more pleased with our stay with you the week of June 30 through July 6. Your hotel is really a gem with a level of service that manages to be both excellent and warm. We had been looking for a smaller hotel with a chic, contemporary style, business-level amenities, attentive, friendly service and convenient to transportation and restaurants. We found all of those things at Hotel Des Academies et Des Arts. Many thanks to you and your staff for helping to make our time in Paris so enjoyable.
Warm regards, Diane F.- New York - 20-07-2007

"Finally the right place" Decorated with taste (modern but cosy), very quiet and lovely management. Plus, brand new adds up to the comfort. A 3 stars with a 4 stars room service. I am coming back soon D. Chicago- Trip Advisor-15 june 2007.

"Great small Left Bank Hotel"
Hotel was everything the Trip Advisor reviews said it was . We spent 4 nights for my wife's 60th Birthday (remember 60 is the new 40) and had a delightful time. The staff was very attentive, drew out maps to everywhere we wanted to go (we've been to Paris a number of times before so we had some more unusual requests for sights). They made dinner reservations for us and were able to get us in where we wanted to go. Location is interesting deep in the Left Bank and area around the hotel--Luxembourg Gardens, etc. is beautiful and peaceful. We walked to the Seine more than once and to Boulevard St-Germain so area is accessible. The Metro Stop is a few hundred yards from the hotel entrance. Room is Parisian-- small but cute and if you adjust--one stays on the bed when the other is moving, etc. it is fine. Loved the artwork although thru a slight mix-up--our fault--we missed the sculpter/artist when she visited. One of the best, most memorable birthdays my wife ever spent. "a must go: no better place to stay in Paris!"
Brand new, fantastic decoration, in the heart of Paris "rive gauche", dream crew, perfect beds and bathrooms, etc. etc. What else can you dream of? L'Hotel des Academies is the perfect boutique hotel, that one Paris was missing. An ideal base to explore the city: you're only 2 minutes away from "les Jardins du Luxembourg"; you can basically walk anywhere in Paris from the hotel. The hotel area itself is full of life, with trendy / local restaurants, cafés, "bistrots", cinemas, shops. Whatever you're after, the staff will give useful tips (if you need): they're a goldmine. Last but not least, breakfast is served until noon! Simply smart. Stay there, you won't regret. Seb Seb-shanghai-Tripadvisor-25 june 2007

"Superb and stylish"
This hotel (opened just a few months ago), is situated on a good location in a nice street, just around the corner of Rue Montpernasse. We liked our room. Although not large, it was decorated and furnised with style and sense of color. The bed was great. The hotel itself is decorated with a lot of visual surprises and has a very nice atmosphere. The art is made by local, but getting-to-be famous artists (you can visit their atelier on request). The staff is not only very professional but also friendly and multi-lingual, and the breakfast was superb. We just stayed one night, but we definitely will come back in this very nice hotel. "Fantastic Hotel - Would Highly recommend"
Just spent an amazing weekend at the hotel des academies et des arts. Having heard the reputation of the room sizes in Paris, was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case here. The decor, attention to detail and finishing touches throughout the building have made this the nicest hotel I have stayed in to date. Also as the hotel is less than a five minute walk from the metro line and various restaurants and bars, the location can only be beaten by the fantastic staff who work here. Already looking forward to returning early next year - would highly recommend this hotel. Kate - Dublin - 9 may 2007

"Stylish and brand new"
stayed three nights here. What a fantastic hotel. It is great value and the quality of the finishes in the rooms is superb. They are quite small but perfectly formed. It was only re-opened as a 3 star hotel but in terms of the rooms, I have stayed in much worse 4 and 5 star hotels previously. If you like a contemporary boutique 'feel' then I could not recommend it more highly at the price. The staff were also very friendly. When I had a problem with the hot water in my room I was upgraded and the staff seemed very eager to please. As it is brand new, it will have a few minor teething problems but I sense the committment from the staff to get this hotel on the map so they work hard to deliver. It's less than 10 mins on the metro to 'Cite'. Vavin is just round the corner so easy to get anywhere in Paris. I had a really lovely walk into the heart of Paris from the hotel through the Jardin de Luxembourg (closeby), via the Pantheon. I can't say anything about breakfast as I didn't sample it Overall, it was great E. Cheschire - U.K. - 11 april 2007

"Modern Chic!"
Stayed here for 5 nights last week. Absolutely loved the new decor in this recently refurbished hotel. The finishes are of the highest quality and any minor snags that did occur were being dealt with as soon as they arise. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the showers are particularly cool with 6 body sprays for all over relaxation which was most welcome after a hot day walking around Paris. Breakfast, if a little on the expensive side, was beautifully presented and very filing. The Hotel is easily accessible from Vavin metro station and easy to get to using the RER line B from Charles de Gaulle Airport. Finally the staff were wonderfully helpful and welcoming. G. Dublin. "The perfect boutique hotel!!"
By far my best experience in Europe! We were welcomed by Giulia, who helped us during all our staywith constant great recommendations on where to eat, what to see, and how to get anywhere (the hotel has 3 metro stops only a few minutes away). Location was great, among the locals but walking distance from many sites! The hotel has been recently renovated with perfect "french taste", and art is everywhere around you, in the lobby and in your room. Rooms are not huge, as expected in Europe, but very well organized. To sum it up: great location, great staff, great room. We will be back! Richard, Florida - 26 oct. 2009 - Tripadvisor
